What is it?

An easy to play interactive, web-based, treasure hunt which allows you to enter into the amazing Easter story. Go round on your own, with your family or in a team with your friends and complete the tasks that will appear at each mystery location. Answer questions, solve puzzles, take selfies, and then follow directions to the next secret location where you will hear the next bit of the Easter story. At each location you will be invited to ‘Enter into the story’ and think about what it must have been to have been there that very first Easter week.

How do you play?

On your phone, click on the link and input the code (at the top of the page). This will take you to the treasure hunt app. The treasure hunt starts at St Andrew’s Church, Churchdown Road, Poolbrook (WR14 3JX). From there you will be sent to different locations in Malvern and on the hills, where each bit of the story will be told, finally ending up at British Camp Car Park. As the distances are quite large, you will need a car to transport you betwen the locations. If you have mobility issues and cannot do the stretches on the hills, you can ‘skip’ those location tasks and complete the rest of the Treasure Hunt from the car park at British Camp. If you want you can split the hunt up and do it over a couple of days. Your phone will just stay logged in.

Who is it for?

Anyone whether you are old or young, in a family, with friends, or on your own. Everyone can play and it is completely FREE!

How long will it take?

It will take around 3 hours in total (depending on whether you have children with you and how fast they are!) so do bring some snacks to eat along the way. Or, you don’t have to do it all in one go. You could do the first 4 sections (up to and induding the Garden of Gethesemane) one day and the remaining sections (up at British camp on the hills) another day. Or even, you could journey throught Holy Week doing one story a day… however it suits you!

When can I play?

Any time you want to between 1st and 17th April 2023.

And if after doing it you want to explore the story further…

We’d love to help you explore this Easter story further if this is quite new to you. You can do this in a variety of ways 1) We have some ‘Why Easter?’ booklets that we’d love to give you a copy of if you want to explore more (just ask at Sally’s Cafe at British Camp and they will give one to you), or you could join our Alpha course after Easter to explore with others (click here for more information) or just get in touch with us and we’d love to talk more (email us at administrators@standrewsandallsaints.org)

And there are PRIZES…

There are prizes – stickers and books – for everyone completing it (and an extra creme egg for the first 96 children completing it with their families), and special prizes too for the team to score the most points and give the best answers to the ‘Enter into the Story’ questions.

We are grateful to PlayTours (www.playtours.app/) for supporting us with this Treasure Hunt and also to the amazing James Atkinson and the Diocese of Worcester for producing such amazing videos for us!

Happy Treasure Hunting!
