Holiday at Home – for older members of the local community
Over the years we have held a series of events under the banner of ‘Holiday at Home’. They were times for friendship and fun at St Andrew’s Church, Poolbrook. In February or March each year we held a lunch for about 70 guests and in May or June an afternoon tea which often had a theme and a musical entertainment.
During August there was a week where we held 3 days of different activities. One day was usually a trip out by coach with a delicious picnic. A write-up of the 2018 events is available on our website by clicking here.
Another day there would be activities in the church with an interesting speaker followed by lunch and a film. The final day was often lunch and a shorter trip out to somewhere of interest.
Christmas is a time of joy and celebration and we finished the year with a full Christmas lunch with entertainment.
